Adolphus J. Ingano, fondly known as “Grampy” passed away at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the age of 106. He was born on January 26, 1912 in Clinton MA to Cosmo and Melania (Marini) Ingano.
Adolphus served in the CCC and spent 20 years in the Army and National Guard. He served his country during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and numerous other awards.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Czulack Ingano and siblings, Charles and Peter Bardi, Eugene Ingano, Rose Dibernardo, Stella Ainasoaja, Lena Mascitti, Edith Abrahamson, Jemma Sabourin, and Guilda Cataldi.
Adolphus is survived by his son, Ronald (Barbara) Ingano of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Bobbie, Christopher, Tony & Karen; and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Abigail, Justice, Sage, Talia & Alexandra.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 12:15 pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 357 N. Cool Spring Street, Fayetteville. Adolphus will be buried in Paxton, MA with his wife at a later date.
